I began tutoring others while attending Southeastern University to earn my bachelor's degree in psychology. To this day, I continue to tutor students in a wide range of subjects. However, the topics that interest me most are world history and European history. Additional subjects in which I tutor include American history, Latin American history, social studies, and SAT test preparation. For students who need extra help, I offer my tutoring services throughout the course of the summer months. My method for tutoring utilizes the information and knowledge each student has already attained. In order to have a fuller understanding of the events that took place in history, I have always encouraged those I tutor to try and place themselves in the shoes of the historical figures. I believe that this also makes the historical events feel more personal, allowing my students to grasp ideas more easily and remember more facts. Additionally, I encourage my students to use timelines and maps as much as possible. The more concrete evidence students use, the easier it is to visualize learned information.I have a vast educational background, including a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona, a master's degree from Boise State University in History, and a bachelor's degree from Southeastern University. Currently residing in Tucson, Arizona, I teach world history, and my tutoring specialties now lie in gender history and pre-modern European cultural history.Outside of work, my interests and hobbies include reading, taking walks, traveling, and watching reality television shows.
